Label Code Setup

 

Application Overview

 

This application allows the user to define Label Codes.  Label Codes are used to define label sizes used by the Elliott Software.  Label Codes can be used for the printing of labels from the Accounts Payable package when printing Vendor Labels, from the Customer Order Processing package when printing Shipping Labels, and from Accounts Receivable package when printing Customer Labels.

 

 



Label Code Setup

 

Run Instructions

Select Util_Setup from the Elliott Main Menu Bar.

 

Select Label Code Setup from the pull down window.  The Label Code Setup menu bar will allow you to select one of the following functions:

            Add Label Codes

            Change Label Codes

            Delete Label Codes

The following options are available:

 

*     Select the desired function and enter the data requested on the screen in accordance with the Entry Field Description.

*     When you have finished with any one of these functions, press the ESC or F10 key and the program will return to the Label Code Setup menu bar.

*     When you have finished the label setup, press the ESC for F10 key when the menu bar is displayed.  The Elliott Main Menu Bar will then be redisplayed.

 


Entry Field Descriptions

 

Name

Type and Description

1. Label Codes

2 numeric digits.

Enter the code you want to represent the Label Code.  The maximum Label Code that can be entered is 99.  In the change or delete mode, press the F1 key to search for defined Label Codes.

2. Label Description

30 alphanumeric characters.

This is the description of the Label Code.  This description will be displayed any time the entry of a Label Code is requested so that you will be able to see that you have entered the correct Label Code.

3. Total Label Lines

2 numeric digits.

Enter the total number of label lines.  The default is 6.

4. Label Top Margin

2 numeric digits.

Enter the label top margin.  The Label Top Margin can't exceed the Total Label Lines less 6.  For example, if the Total Label Lines is equal to 6, then the Label Top Margin can't be greater than 4.  If the Label Top Margin does exceed the Total Label Lines the message“Label Top Margin Can't Be Greater Than 4”, using our example.

5. Label Left Margin

2 numeric digits 

Enter the label left margin.  This will position the printing of the labels at the left margin specified.

 

 

System Code Type File Maintenance

 

*Note: This menu option replaces “Report writer” which has been discontinued.  We suggest using Elliott’s Export Processor or Crystal Reports if you need a more robust report writer.

 

Application Overview

 

This selection allows you to define generic codes that can be used throughout the system.  User defined code types are maintained in a file called SYCDTYPE.BTR.

 

 

Run Instructions

Select Util_Setup from the Elliott Main Menu Bar.

 

Select System Code Type File from the pull down window.  The System Code Type File menu bar will allow you to select one of the following functions:

            Add System Code Types

            Change System Code Types

            Delete System Code Types

            List System Code Types

 

The following options are available:

 

*     Select the desired function and enter the data requested on the screen in accordance with the Entry Field Description.

*     When you have finished with any one of these functions, press the ESC or F10 key and the program will return to the System Code Type File menu bar.

*     When you have finished with System Code Type setup, press the ESC for F10 key when the menu bar is displayed.  The Elliott Main Menu Bar will then be redisplayed.

8 alphanumeric characters.

Enter the code you want to represent the System Code.  In the change or delete mode, press the F7 key to bring up the search window for defined System Codes.

2. Code Type Description

30 alphanumeric characters.

This is the description of the Code Type.  This description will be displayed any time the entry of a Code Type is requested so that you will be able to see that you have entered the correct Code Type.

3. Code Length

2 numeric digits.

Enter a value from 1 to 15 for the length of the Code Type.

4. Description Length

2 numeric digits.

Enter a value from 1 to 30 for the length of the Code Type Description.

 

 


System Code Value

This selection allows you to assign values to the generic codes that you have set up.

 

 

Run Instructions

Select Util_Setup from the Elliott Main Menu Bar.

 

Select System Code Value from the pull down window.  The System Code Value menu bar will allow you to select one of the following functions:

            Add System Code Values

            Change System Code Values

            Delete System Code Values

            List System Code Values

Entry Field Descriptions

 

Name

Type and Description

1. Code Type

8 alphanumeric characters.

Enter the code type you want to assign values to.  In the change or delete mode, press the F7 key to bring up the search window for defined System Codes.  This must be a valid code.

2. Code Value

1 to 15 alphanumeric characters.

The length of this field is dependent upon the value entered in the Code Type setup.  Enter the value you wish to assign to this code.

3. Code Value Description

1 to 30 alphanumeric characters.

The length of this field is dependent upon the value entered in the Code Type setup.  Enter the value description you wish to assign to this code.

 

 

eContact Processor

 

*Note: This menu option replaces “Bar code utilities” which has been discontinued.

Application Overview

 

This selection allows you to perform a mass e-mail with the eContacts set up in Elliott.  A multi-tab window will allow you to perform different functions; choose eContacts from different categories, select different criteria for the eContact list, process the request, compose and send an e-mail to the eContacts selected, export the data to a text file or spreadsheet and provide a history of functions performed in eContact Processor.
