How to Export Item to 3PL for the Net Change Records Only

Release Date: 10/31/2023
Version: 8.5 & Above

Q - On Item File Export to 3PL, it has an option for change date. If running in Deferred Processing, is there an option for system date or yesterday's date so we will only send changes from the previous date?  Right now we have options for all or change date.  Just thinking if we send the full file it will take extra resources.

A - We actually already have a solution.  This is what you should do in Item Export to 3PL. Select the parameters you wish to use.  At field "Export Item Add/Change Since" field, there's an option to press "F1=Since Last Export." See sample screen below:

If you press F1, you can see the following:

Set up this task in the deferred mode to run immediately after midnight.

This is what will happen:
  1. When this deferred task is run, it will save the system date to Global Setup to record the "last export date."
  2. As each item is added or changed, the item added date or last changed date will be updated.
  3. The next time this deferred task is executed, if the "Since Last Export" option is used, the system will compare the item added or last modified date to see if the value is greater or equal to the Global Setup last export date. If true, it will export the item record to 3PL.
