Feature - Production Schedule Report CSV Export Notes as a Concatenated Column

Release Date: 04/05/2024
Version: 8.5 & Up

Background

The key Elliott concept to understand this feature is to understand Notes. Elliott users may be familiar with the use of Notes in various places in Elliott. If not, check out this article on Notes.

In addition, Production Schedule Report is a BOMP feature located in Bill of Material Processor > Report > Production Schedule Report. It prints a list of items scheduled to be produced. For more information on this, check out the main article on the topic. This feature later was enhanced to allow exporting to CSV files. For more information, click here. This feature is a continuous improvement to support exporting of Notes to CSV.

Feature

The CSV export in Production Schedule Report now supports exporting Notes of a specified Note Type as a concatenated string into a column. Consider the following Note with the Note Type PWO:

After being exported to a CSV file via Production Schedule Report, this is what it looks like:

You'll see that it is not necessary to use Notes of Note Type PWO. The feature is generic such that it will concatenate Notes of any Note Type depending on the Global Setup flag. More on that in the Setup section.

Setup

To setup this feature, go to System Utilities > Utility > Global Setup > Dist > Bomp global control. Go to BOMP Global Control - Screen 7 and you will see the new Global Setup flag, "5. Note Type to Concat in CSV for Material Prod Sched." You can select whatever Note Type you want in this field. In the example above, we used PWO.

If you press F7, you can search for the Note Type.
