How to Create the PICKBIN Attribute for Items

The PICKBIN attribute must be set up in order to use the Restocking Suggestion Report available from Inventory Management-> Reports-> Stock Status or the Minimum Transfer Requirements Report available from Customer Order Processing-> Processing-> Pick/Pack Tickets & Ship Labels-> Print.

This attribute contains the quantity information that will determine if an item's primary stocking bin needs to be restocked. This bin is specified in the Item Master for the item's primary location or in the Inventory Location Control File for any of the item's secondary locations.

First, go to Util-Setup-> System File Maintenance-> Maintain-> Attribute. Create/or update the PICKBIN attribute with the following values when in a single bin environment:

When running the  multi-bin enhancement, the Reference 2 field will be for reference purposes only. The replenish bin(s) will be chosen based upon the inventory available in the Bin Inventory File.

Then, go to Util-Setup-> System Code Type File. Create/or update the ITMVELOC code type with the following values:

Go to Util-Setup-> System File Maintenance-> Maintain-> Attribute Enhancement. Create/or update the PICKBIN attribute with the following values. Make sure that there is no Master File specified (field 3). This will allow the user to set up the attributes for both the Item Master and the Inventory Location files.

Go to Distribution-> Inventory Management-> Maintenance-> Item File. Set up the PICKBIN attribute for the items that you would like to replenish. You should also make sure that the Bin No/Pick Seq is set up for the item (field 19).

Target Bin Qty – Target amount to be stocked in the primary bin.
Threshold Qty – Single Bin: The minimum amount that must be sold since the last restocking before the bin will be restocked again.
Multi-Bin: The minimum quantity available in the primary stocking bin. If the quantity drops below this number, the item needs to be restocked.
Replenishment Bin – Secondary bin where the replenishment stock is held. This is applicable for the single bin environment only.
Notes - User-defined note about the item.
Item Velocity – How quickly the item sold during a given period of time.

Note: The Modified Date/Time on the attribute represents the last time the item was restocked. This field is updated when the Inventory Transfer Batch is completed or the warehouse personnel instruct the system to update the inventory.

For Single Bin: If (Quantity On Hand + Quantity Sold) > Target Quantity AND Quantity Sold > Threshold Quantity then this item's primary stocking bin needs to be restocked.
For Multi Bin: If Primary Bin Quantity On Hand < Threshold Quantity then this item's primary stocking bin needs to be restocked.

Quantity Sold is calculated from I/M Transaction Audit Trail since last restocking date.  The item PICKBIN attribute last modified date is the last restocking date.

Go to Distribution-> Inventory Management-> Maintenance-> Location Control File. Set up the PICKBIN attribute for the items that you would like to replenish. The Attribute Button will not be available until after you enter the inventory location.
