Canceled PO Line Items Still Exporting on EDI

Released Date: 11/7/2022
Version: 8.5 & Up

Q - We’ve seen this happen twice in the last month. We create a purchase order, then cancel line items on it. When we export the EDI document again, it still contains the cancelled line items on it, which we don’t want. We’ve checked Elliott settings but nothing is clear if we have a setting wrong. How do we fix this?

AA canceled PO or line item could be exported. See the following KB article: https://support.elliott.com/knowledgebase/articles/1979115-feature-po-export-by-vendor-edi-profile  See sample screen below:

A PO with a line item that’s canceled is considered a “Changed” PO. So if you choose to export  a “Changed” PO in the Vendor EDI profile, the canceled line item will be exported. The exported PO line item will have proper information to show that this is a canceled line item. If your PO side of the EDI is implemented with ESS (Elliott SPS Services), then this condition would be handled correctly. On the other hand, if you handle the PO side EDI on your own, then it is up to your EDI software (e.g., ECS/Delta) to interpret what to send.
