Feature - Support Bill Of Lading Shipping Label by Item Sequence

Release Date - 2/15/19

In the past, when you tried to print shipping labels (UCC-128) from the Bill of Lading Maintenance application, the system printed the labels order by order for the orders on the Bill of Lading. The labels were sorted by order number sequence.

For users who always pre-pack and don’t use pick-and-pack, there is no scenario where there are different line items in the same pack. Each order line item represents at least a pack.

When shipping the entire Bill of Lading, with many orders under this Bill of Lading, the user may want to sort the labels by item sequence instead of order number sequence. This way, they can print the labels for the Bill of Lading and take these labels by item sequence as they pick. Then they can place the labels on the pack as they pick.

In order to support this, we have introduced an additional option to Global Setup flag to Cop-Ctl -> Vics Bill of Lading, 2nd screen->  Field 22. Label Ttl Carton by Order, Item or PO.

The default value is O. Two new options, I = By Item and P = By Purchase Order are now available.

When in COP-> Processing-> Print Pick/Pack Ticket and Labels-> Print-> VICS Bill of Lading and the user presses the F3 Function key, the labels are now printed in the sequence specified in Global Setup.
