Feature - Relaxed Auto Credit Release

Release Date: 6/9/21
Version: 8.5 and Above

If you use Elliott's Credit Check & Release function, we now provide two new features that may help your operation:
  1. In the past, the sales order can be put on hold if it was over the credit limit.  We now provide the option of "over x%."  For example, a  user may enter an amount over 10%.  That means, as long as the sales order does not exceed the customer's credit limit + 10%, then the order will not be put on hold. On the other hand, we still display the Credit Release screen and all other areas as if the "over x%" does not exist.  The default is "Over 0%."
  2. In the past, we allowed users to define the past due amount in periods 2, 3 and 4 individually to exceed certain amounts to put the order on hold.  We now have the option to check on the total of periods 2, 3 and 4.

To enable these features, go to Global Setup -> Cop-Ctl -> Credit Check & Release, flag 1. Auto Hold Order/Warning For Credit Problem? If the value is set to “Y,” then the following window is available:

Several new options have been added to this screen, including an over/under percentage and the option to use an accumulated balance in periods 2-4 for the credit check.

Over Credit Limit ? Y  Over % 999- (default 0)
Amount In Period 1 > 999,999,999.00
Amount In Period 2 > 1.00
Amount In Period 3 > 1.00
Amount In Period 4 > 1.00
Use Period 2-4 Total Y/N (Default N)
Amount Period 2-4 > 999,999,999.00 (default 0)
Check in Order Entry Y
Check in Pick Ticket Y

If the answer to “Over Credit Limit ?” is “Y,” then the user is prompted for an “Over%” in the form of 999- where a negative is allowed. The allowable value is between 999 to 100-.

The user is also prompted for the new option to  “Use Period 2-4 Total.” Default is “N.” If the value is “Y,” then the user is prompted for “Amount Period 2-4 >.” The credit check process will use either the balance of periods 2, 3 and 4 to control individually, or the combined total of periods 2-4 to control.

 Credit Check & Release

In all areas that perform credit check and release, the application now considers the above new flags. Also, the order notes show the credit reasons why the order was placed on hold. For example, if the customer's limit is higher than the over percentage, a hold note is generated specifying the over percent.

If the customer's accumulated balance of periods 2-4 is over the amount set up in Global Setup, a message is generated indicating this:
