Avalara Setup Procedures - Address Validation Utilities

Validate Customer Address

Go to System Utilities -> Avalara/Vertex Interface-> Utilities and choose Validate Customer Address.

 

Starting Customer No - Enter the starting customer number. Enter spaces for all. F7/F8 search by customer number and name is available.

Ending Customer No - Enter the starting customer number. F7/F8 search by customer number and name is available.

Customer Type - Enter the customer type. F7/F8 search is available.

Last Sale Date - Enter the last sales cut off date. For example, to validate the address for customers who you have sold to in the last two years enter today's date minus two years.

 

The application will validate all of the addresses on file that match the entered criteria. The application will create the _CALCAVALARA attribute for the customer and set the Avalara address checked flag. If the lookup was successful, the flag will be set to Y and the latitude and longitude for the address will be set in the attribute. Any issues encountered when validating the address are written to the Notes fields in the attribute.

If the Avalara address checked flag is set to Y, this means that the customer's address has been validated via the Avalara web service and the address was acceptable.

Validate Ship-To Address

Go to System Utilities -> Avalara/Vertex Interface-> Utilities and choose Validate Ship-To Address.

 

Starting Customer No - Enter the starting customer number. Enter spaces for all. F7/F8 search by customer number and name is available.

Ending Customer No - Enter the starting customer number. F7/F8 search by customer number and name is available.

Customer Type - Enter the customer type. F7/F8 search is available.

Last Sale Date - Enter the last sales cut off date. For example, to validate the address for customers who you have sold to in the last two years enter today's date minus two years.

If the lookup was successful, the flag will be set to Y and the latitude and longitude for the address will be set in the attribute. If the Avalara address checked flag is set to Y, this means that the ship-to's address has been validated via the Avalara web service and the address was acceptable.

Validate Order Address

Go to System Utilities -> Avalara/Vertex Interface-> Utilities and choose Validate Order Address.

Starting Order No - Enter the starting order number. Enter spaces for all.

Ending Order No - Enter the starting order number.

Order Cutoff Date - Enter the order cut off date. For example, to validate the address for open, non-invoiced orders that were entered in the last two years enter today's date minus two years.

 

The application will validate all of the addresses on file that match the entered criteria. The application will create the _CALCAVALARA attribute for the order and set the Avalara address checked flag. If the lookup was successful, the flag will be set to Y and the latitude and longitude for the address will be set in the attribute. Any issues encountered when validating the address are written to the Notes fields in the attribute.

If the Avalara address checked flag is set to Y, this means that the order's address has been validated via the Avalara web service and the address was acceptable.

Validate Recurring Order Address

Go to System Utilities -> Avalara/Vertex Interface-> Utilities and choose Validate Recur Order Address.

 

Starting Order No - Enter the starting order number. Enter spaces for all.

Ending Order No - Enter the starting order number.

Order Cutoff Date - Enter the order cut off date. For example, to validate the address for open, non-invoiced orders that were entered in the last two years enter today's date minus two years.

If the lookup was successful, the flag will be set to Y and the latitude and longitude for the address will be set in the attribute. Any issues encountered when validating the address are written to the Notes fields in the attribute.

If the Avalara address checked flag is set to Y, this means that the recurring order's address has been validated via the Avalara web service and the address was acceptable.

Validate Location Address

Go to System Utilities -> Avalara/Vertex Interface-> Utilities and choose Validate Location Address.

 

The application will validate all of the addresses on file. The application will create the _CALCAVALARA attribute for the location and set the Avalara address checked flag. If the lookup was successful, the flag will be set to Y and the latitude and longitude for the address will be set in the attribute. Any issues encountered when validating the address are written to the Notes fields in the attribute.

If the Avalara address checked flag is set to Y, this means that the location's address has been validated via the Avalara web service and the address was acceptable.
