Feature - Import for Material Cost Type Location Account File
Version: 8.5 and Above
This feature allows the user to import records for the Inventory Management Material Cost Type Location Account file. A new Import menu option has been added.
After choosing the Import option, a new screen is shown with a Pre-Interface, Interface, and Layout option. The Layout option shows the required layout for the CSV file used in the import process.
The required fields are:
(Column A): Material Cost Type (Required)
(Column B): Location (Required)
(Column C): Inv Asset Acct (Required)
(Column D): Purchase Price Variance Acct (Required)
(Column E): Use Standard Variance?
(Column F): Standard Variance Acct (Required If Column E = Y)
(Column B): Location (Required)
(Column C): Inv Asset Acct (Required)
(Column D): Purchase Price Variance Acct (Required)
(Column E): Use Standard Variance?
(Column F): Standard Variance Acct (Required If Column E = Y)
The application supports two interface modes - Pre-Interface and Interface.
1. Import CSV File Path & Name -- Enter the full path and file name of the CSV file to be processed. The application will remember the last file name entered.
2. CSV File Contains Header Row ? -- If the CSV file contains a header row, enter Y. Otherwise, enter N. The application will remember the last entry.

Possible errors conditions:
Error : Matl Cost Type Must Be Entered
Error : Matl Cost Type Size Exceeds Maximum Length of 1
Error : Matl Cost Type Not Found
Error : Location No Must Be Entered
Error : Location Size Exceeds Maximum Length of 2
Error : Location Not Found
Error : Record Already Exists, Cannot Be Added
Error : Inventory Account Not On File
Error : Purchase Price Var Account Not On File
Error : Use Std Variance Must Be Set To Y Or N
Error : Std Cost Var Acct Must Be Blank If Use Std Variance Set To N
Error : Std Cost Var Acct Must Be Provided If Use Std Variance Set To Y
Error : Std Cost Var Account Not On File
The Pre-Interface and the Interface Journals will print the data from the CSV file and any pertinent error messages. Here is an example of the Interface Journal.
