PowerSearch: Hiding All PowerSearches for a User

Background

PowerSearch allows Elliott users to have new, customizable search options.  While this is generally beneficial, not all users will want to take advantage of this feature.  This article describes how any individual user can specify that they only want legacy search windows, effectively hiding all PowerSearches.

Hiding PowerSearches

If a user has the ability to run PowerSearches, pressing F7 could bring up a list of searches like the following:


If you want to hide all Elliott PowerSearches going forward, press the Setup toolbar button at the top left of the Control Center to bring up Setup/Preferences. On the Misc. tab, press the LegacyOnly Settings... button:


This will bring up the following dialog:

Check the Hide all PowerSearches checkbox and click the OK button and then the Save button on the Setup/Preferences dialog to complete the change.

To unhide PoserSearches, follow the same procedure except you must uncheck the checkbox.
