Feature - Force Weight Entry During PO Warehouse Receiving

Release Date: 10/21/24
Version: 8.5 and Above

Currently PO Warehouse Receiving has the option to force the entry of an item's weight if not set up in the item master file. This feature allows the user to force the entry of the item weight for every receiving -- even if the weight has been entered in the item master. A new option is available in Global Setup-> Dist-> PO Warehouse Receiving-> 5. Update Zero Item Weight During Receiving.

5. Update Zero Item Weight During Receiving -  The options are Y=Yes,  N=No, and  Z=Zero Out And Enter New Weight. If set to Z, PO Warehouse Receiving will prompt the user for the item's weight even if the weight exists in the item master file. When the option is set to Z, two new options must be set.

Weight Tolerance Percentage - Enter the tolerance percentage that is checked when the item's weight is entered in PO Warehouse Receiving. For example, if the tolerance percentage is 10.00 and the item weight is 5.000, a weight entered that is greater than 5.500 or less than 4.500 would be considered outside of the tolerance range. An entered weight that is outside of the tolerance range will force the user to enter the override password.
Over Tolerance Password - If a weight is entered that is outside of the tolerance range, this password must be entered to accept the new weight.

If Update Zero Item Weight During Receiving is set to Z, PO Warehouse Receiving will prompt the user for the item's weight even if the weight exists in the item master file. The Item Weight field will default to zero and a weight other than zero must be entered if  Global Setup-> Dist-> PO Warehouse Receiving-> 6. Allow Receiving Item with Zero Weight is set to N.

If a weight is entered that is outside of the tolerance range, the override password must be entered to accept the new weight.
