Post Engineering Changes
Application Overview
The Post Engineering Changes application transfers engineering changes from the Change File to the Product Structure File. This enables the user to design modifications to a product structure long before they are to be implemented. The Product Structure File itself (and therefore the production process) is not altered until the changes are posted through this application. Changes to be posted may be selected by entering a range of engineering change numbers and/or by setting a cutoff date for the effective date assigned to each change by the user. The application will flag changes that are inconsistent with the current product structures. Despite this, it is recommended to print out the edit list in Engineering Change Processing before posting.
Run Instructions
Select Post Engineering Changes from the pull down BOMP Processing window. The following screen will then be displayed:

The following options are available:
- Select the desired mode from the Post Engineering Changes menu bar.
- Enter the data requested on the screen.
To return to the menu bar, press the ESC or F10 key. To leave this application, press X for EXIT when positioned at the menu bar.
Entry Field Descriptions
Name | Type and Description |
1. Starting Change No | 6 numeric digits. Enter the starting engineering change number for the range to be posted. Defaults to All. |
2. Ending Change No | 6 numeric digits. Enter the ending engineering change number for the range to be posted. Defaults to the starting change number. |
3. Effective Date Cutoff | A date in the standard date format. Enter the cutoff date for the range of engineering changes to be posted. Only changes whose effective dates (set in Engineering Change Processing application) fall on or before this date will be posted. Defaults to the current date. |
