Feature - Item Number Verification After Serial Number Scan

Release Date: 4/21/16

The purpose of this feature is to give the user the option to force warehouse personnel to scan the item number, UPC code, or manufacturer's model number after every serial number is scanned in PO Warehouse Receiving. This will force the system to validate that the correct item/serial number combination was scanned.

To enable this feature, a new Global Setup option has been added to System-> Serial No. Tracking Control-> option 16. Scan Item#/UPC Code Aft Ser# at PO WH Recv?"

The default value is "N." If this option is set to "Y," the user will be forced to scan the item number, UPC code, GTIN, or manufacturer's model number (alternate ID) every time a serial number is scanned in PO Warehouse Receiving. A pop-up window will prompt the user for the additional scan.

If the scan matches the item number being processed, the user is returned to the serial number entry screen to enter the next serial number. If the item number does not match the item currently being processed, the user will receive an error message in a pop-up window and the the user will have to type DONE to exit the window.

Once the user types DONE, he/she is returned to the serial number entry screen and the last serial number scan is not recorded.

NOTE: This change does not affect the Legacy PO Receiving application. Also, if this option is enabled, the user will no longer be able to use the F3 key to receive a range of serial numbers. All serial numbers must be scanned individually with item number verification.
