Mapped Local Drive Disconnected to Cause Label Printing Error

Q - We use remote desktops, and we print our CSV label files to our remote workstation local drive. The CSV file will then be picked up by the label printing software bartender and printed on the connected local label printer.  We mapped our W: drive to the remote desktop client local C: drive.  However, we noticed that the W: drive constantly gets disconnected.  As a result, when we try to print to the labels, we receive an error message.  What can we do about this problem?

A - There is a Knowledge Base article from Microsoft that discusses this mapped drive disconnect issue.  This behavior occurs because the systems can drop idle connections after a specified time-out period (by default, 15 minutes) to prevent wasting server resources on unused sessions. To resolve this behavior, change the default time-out period on the shared network computer.
