Feature - New QTYAVAILBYCOMP Attribute Fields
The QTYAVAILBYCOMP, QTYAVAILBYCOM2, and QTYAVAILBYCOMP3 attributes can be used to decide whether or not there is enough stock to ship or produce a parent item. If not, the attribute fields contain information on when the parent items or components will arrive so they can be back-ordered and the promise date can be updated. If nothing is available to ship or produce in the near future, then the order can be cancelled. The attribute information can also be used for purchasing purposes. These attributes can be updated through Global Setup-> Utilities-> I/M Utilities-> Utilities-> Generate Statistic Info-> Generate-> Update Qty Avail By Comp Attribute.
The feature will add two new fields to the attribute QTYAVAILBYCOMP2. The following is a list of fields for these attributes. The the new fields appear in bold:
a. QTYAVAILBYCOMP – R1 – BOMP Active Group
b. QTYAVAILBYCOMP – R2 – BOMP Avail Qty Group
c. QTYAVAILBYCOMP – R3 – BOMP Sched Qty Group

Currently, the calculation of column “Schedule Qty Avail” is based on ATP. It could be the ATP of the parent item or the components. If it is from the parent item, then the check box “Sched Qty from Stock” will be set to “Y.” If “Sched Qty from Stock” is set to “N,” then it means the "Scheduled Qty Avail" comes from the component ATP.
Currently, for each parent item, there can be multiple ways to produce it. In the product structure, seq# 010 – 090 is defined as the “Active Group” and 100 – 190, 200 – 290..etc. as the “Alternate Group” and they are marked as “obsolete.” If the "Scheduled Qty Avail" is from the component, then it is based on the “earliest available group,” which can be an active or alternate group. The “Next Schedule Date” represents the earliest group schedule receiving date (from ATP).
This feature adds two additional attribute fields that show Schedule Date and Qty based on the BOMP Active Group.
Thus, we are adding the fields "BOMP Active Group Sched Date" and “BOMP Active Group Sched Qty.” The Active Group is the preferred way if production is needed. If making a purchasing decision on buying the components, the Active group information is the preferred information, not the alternative group which may arrive earlier.
The "Stock Qty Available" field amount was supported in the QTYAVAILBYCOMP and QTYAVAILBYCOM3 attributes. The field in the QTYAVAILBYCOMP3 attribute now shows the Stock Qty Available, including negative values.
All three fields have also been added to the CSV file that can be generated when the utility is run.
