Support AP ACH Processing
We recently introduced AR ACH Processing feature. Now we like to know from you if anyone is interested in AP ACH Processing. The idea is instead of printing AP check, for vendors who is flagged to pay by ACH, then system print A/P check, in stead of print the paper check, system will create NACHA file to pay electronically.
Please let us know if you are interested in such a feature and any comments.
We will not implement this solution because there are third party solution. Please see KB article: https://support.elliott.com/knowledgebase/articles/1956208-third-party-ach-payment-software-to-support-elliot

We would support AP ACH processing to gain efficiencies in productivity and reduce check printing supply consumption. As long as there would be a batch report with a corresponding control number and amount verification, it would be controlled via secondary authentication when sending to the bank.

ACH payment numbers could be uploaded just like check numbers for the matching process of the bank's positive pay service.

We have fraud control on our account that requires us to upload a list of our checks every day. If a check is presented to the bank for payment but it's not on the list, it is put in a discrepancy queue and we receive a notification of the exception. We can go to the queue and manually approve it if necessary. (This could happen if we run a late check that missed the upload or our A/P person is out and the upload doesn't get done).
Maybe the responsibility would fall on the company using this function along with their bank to set up proper controls - You would just provide the functionality. -
I think the security risk is not much different from a paper check payment. Two possible control points: the bank can require approval from a second person prior to submitting the ACH batch for processing, and if this is not used, you would still see the payments when reconciling the bank account, unless you have also have a separation of duties issue.

When we evaluate this project, one thing that concerns us is the security issue. We are concerned that once we implement AP ACH feature, if there's no proper check and balance built into the system, then embezzlement can take place. That's the reason why some of users only allow ACH in (AR ACH), not ACH out (AP ACH or AR ACH credit).
We like to hear from you on how you think the proper security, check and balance, should be built into the system to prevent potential fraud.

We are doing ACH payments, but it is more difficult without system support. I can originate ACH's from our bank portal fairly easily, but printing a check copy or other document to serve as remittance advice and emailing it to recipients is labor intensive.

Elbe is interested in this feature, but not only ACH it would need to include wire transfers
for international transactions. -
