Add "Pricing Category" to drive price calculation separate from "Product Category"
Sales/Cost of Sales account structure isn't always consistent with pricing strategies, and vice versa. Having a single Product Category that drives both (Sales/Cost of Sales Accounts AND Price Codes) sometimes creates scenarios where you must create redundant Product Categories (and subsequent Prod Cat/Location entries) OR must create redundant Price Code entries.
It would be nice if those two purposes could be split - leaving the traditional Product Category to drive Sales/Cost of Sales and establish a "Pricing Category" for reference in Price Code maintenance and subsequent price calculation.
This would afford the greatest flexibility and ease of maintenance in environments…

Allow an A Trx for Lot Item
Elliott doesn't allow an A (Adjust) trx for a Lot Item. This is done for the obvious reason of keeping the integrity between the Qty OH on the Item Master / Inventory Location and the Lot qty. But as we know there are situations that this is not the case. Elliott allows L transactions that allows to adjust ONLY the Lot. I suggest to allow A transactions (with a warning or Global setup right).
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedLot Items should be reviewed for V9 because database changes should take place to support the feature better. Please add your ideas of lot support to V9 link so this can be reviewed for V9 project.

Default the amount on CC for PreA orders when doing billing to the Invoice total amount
When doing Billing for a PreA order on the payment window, user has to enter the total invoice amount. In most of the cases the amount is the total user amount so I don't see the reason to default to zero. For the cases user wants to be in full control and enters the amount, this can be a Global setup filed (Default to zero or Total invoice amount). Another option is to default to zero and have a F Key to use the total invoice amount as the amount. I saw situations where user entered the wrong amount instead…
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedIn many situations, the purpose of the pre-authorization is ensure the credit card is valid so it can be used for future charge. Use the $0 pre-authorization will ensure the transaction does not show up on card owner’s side as a pending transaction. This may be desirable since the goods is not shipped yet.
If we default pre-authorization to order amount, then (1) Are we talking about qty-to-ship amount, or total order amount base on quantity order? (2) Do we have all the freight, misc. charge and sales tax figured out on the order. This can be a complicated subject with no good answer.
Conclusion, default pre-authorization amount to $0 create no harm. So we think that is a good default position to take in this case.

Item file import feature for ATP Period Summary
Would it be possible to add the feature of an Item file import
like what is available in Gross Requirements? This would allow
a focused view of part numbers.1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedThis support is available through the “Inventory Report Writer” now. This is accessible from I/M → Reports → Reorder Advice/User Defined CSV. The ATP Summary can be replaced by “User Defined CSV”. Moving forward we will not expand the functionality of various ATP reports. Instead, we are going to expand and improve the “User Defined CSV” so you can create your own reports. In your case, we believe the “User Defined CSV” can already do what you want. If you need help with the “User Defined CSV” application, let us know.

Default values for PO Import - Ship Via, FOB, Print Price
I think the three fields Ship Via, FOB and Print Price should be added as defaults AND added to the layout for the import file.

Customer delivery performance Report
Would it be possible to include an option/selection when running
the customer delivery performance report to allow the user to
select not only by customer number but also to what ship to location?
When dealing with large OEM customers it is common to have
other ship to locations. When running this report all data's are included in the output. You could be delivering 100% to 2 ship to locations but say a 3rd only at 90% on time delivery.
but on the1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedThis is going to be difficult because to select a ship-to, you must be for certain customer only. But since the report give you a range of customers, this make the interface very difficult.

In Inquiry Screens,
In inquiry screens, allow PageUP/PageDown keys to loop beginning/end of return set.
For example, when doing an Order Inquiry, when you are on the first page, pushing the Page UP key (which doesn’t do anything at the moment, on the first page), would actually wrap you around to what would in fact be the last page. Make PageUP/PageDOWN work circularly through the return set, wrapping from the top to the bottom and the bottom to the top, as opposed to linearly, stopping at the bottom and stopping at the top like it does now.
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedThe proposed idea would only be useful if the order database is small so the usefulness is limited. It does not appear to be a highly beneficial change.

Add inventory location while in transaction processing.
I would like to add inventory to a location in the inventory transaction screen. The warning is fine, but then have an "Ok to add Y/N" question. It's very time consuming when we add a new location or new product structure to leave the screen and put the item in the location control file.

Can I create more internal macros?
Is there a way to create more internal macros after running out of hot keys available? I could use about 50 different macros for inventory transactions, however I ran out of available hot keys after 16.

Cash receipt Import - Allow over payment and Allowence
When importing a detailed cash receipt, Elliott doesn't allow over payment to an invoice. I suggest to allow over payment as this might happen. In addition, cash receipt csv might have an allowance line (a deduction). it will be nice to allow the allowance to go through as a negative cash receipt as well.
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedWe believe there’s some significant negative consequence if we should do this. We think the over payment should be handled manually due to the special scenario.

Sort by PO# or Ship Date in PO Inquiry by Item Window
Our purchasing team would like to have the ability to sort by PO# or Ship Date in the PO Inquiry by Item window. This would quickly give them insight into the prior orders' quantities and costs of a particular item.

eContact on location
When you need to email the Pick Ticket to a remote warehouse (might be a 3rd party), it will be nice to use the Post Office.
1. Add the Pick Ticket as possible Post Office Document.
2. Allow to assign the Pick Ticket on the eContact of the location. Elliott allows to add an eContact to a location in the Location file maintenance.
3. In order entry add the eContact of the location to the order.
4. When printing Pick Ticket, allow Post Office (now only PDF is allowed).
Cybermac plans to create a modification that will do the above…1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedAvi, we already have a solution to handle the scenario. You can go to Global setup, Pick/Pack Ticket/Ship Label, flag “15. Default Pick Ticket Printer by Location”. Set it to “Y”.
The during printing of pick ticket, base on the location you enter for the pick ticket, the workstation id will be different. As as result, you can setup print option window differently base on different warehouse location.
As you know that we can already printing to PDF and email. So all you have to do is to setup the email destination in email tab. Then the whole thing will flow correctly.

Available to Promise Period Summary -CSV output to support YTD QTY Usage + ATP
Currently the csv output only has Usage YTD and QTY on hand.
Including
YTD Qty Usage + ATP (until year end) would be a benifit.Possibly
Last Yr Qty Usage would be a good thing also.1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedTheoretically, This is doable with I/M → Reports → Reorder Advise Reports → User Defined CSV Export. Both Qty Usage YTD and Last Year are part of item master and are easily retrievable. ATP (until year end) is tricky. Currently, you can get ATP net change for a period by weeks. So if you know how many weeks till the end of year, then you can define that in the layout. But the issue is you will change that layout as time progress.

Change Customer' SLM eContact when Customer's SLM is changed
The excellent Post Office allows to email a copy of the invoice to the SLM by adding the SLM as an eContact (after adding the SLM's email as an eContact to the SLM file). Changing a SLM on the customer file requires deleting the eContact of the old SLM and adding a new eContact of the new SLM on the Customer screen manually. I suggest to have a prompt "Change SLM eContact?" after changing a SLM. If user answer Yes (should be the default), Elliott will delete the old SLM eContact from the customer and add the new SLM eContact.
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedWhen setting up PDF PostOffice, you can setup to use SalesmanEmail as the variables in cc or bcc area. This will address your issue without any programming.

Merge negative manual check to Bank Book
I discussed the situation with Roger:
There are situations where the company receives a refund check from a vendor. First a voucher was entered, then the invoice was paid and after that the vendor agreed to refund the payment.
There are 2 ways to process it;
1. Make a non-A/R cash receipt and credit the expense account that was debited on the original voucher. In this solution the vendor history is not effected. User can change the vendor file accumulators (amount purchased and amount paid) but this is not a good practice and the other files as AP Open Items…1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedPer discussion with Roger, The AP negative manual check will merge to Bank Book. But thiis is not consider as a deposit because it comes AP. But it does work. Therefore, there’s no need for any action from us.

Print Bin Locations on Purchase Orders
Unless you're using the warehouse module or transfers there is no way to direct the warehouse personnel where items should be put away in the warehouse
Printing a Bin Location on a purchase order would greatly facilitate putting stock away when it comes in. To accomplish this the BIN LOCATION can be added to the PO FORM SETUP. This way it would be optional for each company.
In lieu of this the BIN location may be printed on the Receiving Edit list or the Posting Report.
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedWe recommend that you use Warehouse Receiving to resolve this issue. The bin number/picking sequence prints on the Warehouse Receiving Edit List when printed in Summary format.

Adding Material to Work Order Already Printed
Users want to be able to add material to a work order that's already been printed. For example, if there's part ABC-123 for the work order with quantity per of 2, but the floor sees there's none in stock but they can use part DEF-123 instead, they want to change the work order.
Elliott allows them to report 0, say yes for any changes, then hit F2 to add material. However, it does not let the user add a quantity of 0. User wants to be able to say DEF-123 requires 1 per, but 0 so far. This way the…
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedThere is a similar item to track material shortage which we recently completed and will be released shortly. See the following URL: http://support.elliott.com/knowledgebase/articles/1185577-feature-create-material-shortage-tracking-with-p
This may or may not resolve your issue. We are not sure your intention to add DEF-123 without reporting the materials in production screen. Regardless, we know the current limitation of stopping users from changing the plus work order once the work order is started. We intend to lift this limitation and make it more flexible. For example, if the material had not been reported yet, then even if the work order is started, we should allow the change of materials through work order entry screen. A new idea will be added in this area. If you support his concept, please add your support. Thank you

Multi Location out of Stock inquiry
In Sales Desk, when an item is out of stock and an inquiry is made it adds to the OSI number in Buyer Desk. My question is regarding Multiple Location OSI; does Elliott currently add an OSI if the item is out of stock in the location selected in sales desk but can ship from a different one?
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedThe logic to update OSI (Out of Stock Inquiry) is currently base on the primary location quantity which is P location in your case. This works for 99% of our customers since most of them are single locations. It works for Davidson’s as well in the past until the G location was added. I think we can make a change to consider both P & G location’s quantity before updating the OSI. It would not be a difficult mod. We do not consider this as a top priority for Netcellent to make the change since this does not apply to most of our users.

Right-click to view database information: field name/file name
It would be simply amazing if there were a way to right click to view the database location (file name such as: IMITMFIL - which I know is in many locations when using Elliott), but also field name of a given area of the screen (for instance: If right clicking within the "Event Action Request" screen on the "Program:" field, then return SYEVTACT_PROGRAM).
I feel this would help with reporting for users with less experience (and for those who do have experience).
Thank you.
1 votedeclined · AdminEdward M. Kwang - NETcellent System, Inc. (CEO / Founder, NETcellent Systems, Inc.) respondedIt would be difficult to do this generically at this moment. Probably even difficult for Elliott V9. We need to re-evaluate this when the front end user interface is re-written which might be V10 or beyond.
